The City of Franklin and the Relay for Life committee are having a lamppost decorating contest.
Contestants will be judged on how well they express the theme "Surfin' for a Cure" and the use of the color purple. The lampposts will be judged on May 2, and the winners will be announced on May 3 at The Relay for Life event at Franklin High School.
Entry forms, which contain the rules of the contest, can be picked up at City Hall. The entry fee, which will be donated to the American Cancer Society, is $10. Contestants can begin decorating on April 1, 2014, and decorating ends on April 30, 2014. Lampposts will be assigned on a first-come-first-serve basis. Additionally, all decorated lampposts must have the name of the person, business, organization or school that is participating as a part of the display. Decorations must be removed by May 9, 2014.
