A rather benign weather pattern will dominate much of this week before the next cool front arrives Friday.
Fair to partly cloudy and seasonably cool weather is expected through mid-week.
Temperatures should warm back into the lower 70s Thursday under partly cloudy skies and may reach the mid-70s Friday before a cold front presents the area with the chance of scattered showers.
The weekend at this point looks breezy and colder Saturday into Saturday night, but the next system approaching early next week will likely bring our temperatures back into the lower 70s with rain chances building Monday through Tuesday.
Interestingly enough, the long-range models show no arctic air intruding into Acadiana through the first few days of February. Normally the risk of an artic airmasses in any given winter across Acadiana is much lower after the second to third week of February.
