LAFAYETTE - More than 6,000 students will begin classes on January 16 at South Louisiana Community College's eight sites across Acadiana.
Yet it's not too late to register for spring semester classes at SLCC. Late registration is open until Tuesday, January 15, and there is still time to apply for financial aid.
Rachel Alexander, SLCC's director of admissions, mentioned that popular programs this semester include the Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program and the general business degree program.
"We are excited to welcome the Spring 2013 students back to campus," said Alexander. "We are here to serve the students, parents, and the community, and we look forward to making sure students excel at SLCC."
SLCC Chancellor Dr. Natalie Harder noted, "What students appreciate about getting an education from SLCC is that they will not only know what is expected of them in their occupation, but they will also know how to do it."
Student Services, which include admissions, advising, cashiers, financial aid, and registrar, is located at the Ardoin building on Bertrand Drive in Lafayette and is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Student Services will also be open Saturday, January 12 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to assist students with advising, registration, and financial aid.
SLCC has sites in Abbeville, Crowley, Franklin, Lafayette, New Iberia, Opelousas, St. Martinville, and Ville Platte.
