HOUMA, La. - The first statewide entrepreneurial symposium targeting high school juniors and seniors, university students, entrepreneurial-minded non-students, veterans and teachers is now open for registration.
The "Louisiana Entrepreneurship Fest: For Youth and First-Time Entrepreneurs" - spearheaded by the Terrebonne Parish Economic Development Authority (TEDA) and facilitated by Louisiana Economic Development (LED) - is slated for Thursday, June 20, through Friday, June 21, at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center.
Those interested in attending the fest should go to LaEntreFest.com and click the "Register Today!" tab.
The conference will focus on the basics of establishing and growing a business. Each attendee will return home with comprehensive knowledge to complete a business plan.
"The excitement this festival has generated among business leaders and other stakeholders in Louisiana has been overwhelming," Steve Vassallo, chief executive officer of TEDA, said. "If you're interested in exploring the prospect of becoming your own boss, this conference is for you."
Vassallo said scholarships are available now for individuals and teams, and the conference schedule and speaker roster will be finalized within the next few days.
Individuals and organizations interested in sponsoring the fest should call Vassallo at 985-873-6890 or 985-852-7745.
