Registration is now open for students interested in Lafayette Parish Adult & Community Education classes. New day classes are starting at the Ardoin Learning Center (1101 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette) and at the LeRosen Learning Center (516 East Pinhook Road, Lafayette). Enrolling in classes is recommended as the first step to taking the HiSET (high school equivalency test). The HiSET is the new assessment chosen by Louisiana to replace the GED exam.
The upcoming day session begins on April 8th and students may register on any Friday at the old LeRosen Elementary school located at 516 East Pinhook Road, Lafayette. At registration potential students will complete enrollment paperwork and take an initial assessment to determine placement.
Potential students interested should report by 9:30 a.m. and anticipate staying to complete the assessment until 2:30 p.m. A break for lunch on your own will be included in the day. Students should bring a Social Security card, State ID (such as a driver's license) and withdrawal papers if applicable.
LPSS also offers evening classes throughout the Lafayette area. Registrations for the evening classes are
also held every Friday at the old LeRosen Elementary School. Call 337-521-7266 for more information.
