Register to vote or change your voter information by Feb. 22

The last day to register to vote or change your voter information for the March 24, 2012 Presidential Preference Primary election is February 22, 2012.
Since this election in Louisiana is truly a closed primary election, only the "Democratic Party" and the "Republican Party" participate in this part of the ballot. Regular office hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
During these hours, the office can accept applications from anyone wishing to register to vote. A person appearing to register to vote at the Registrar of Voters office must provide proof of identity, age & residency. A valid Louisiana Driver's license or Louisiana Identification Card having the current address or a birth certificate or other documents which reasonably and sufficiently establishes identity; age and residency may be submitted.
Persons can also now apply online to register to vote or make changes to their registration by going to the following website.
Any voter in Lafayette Parish having a question regarding his/her voter registration may contact the registrar of voters' office at (337) 291-7140.
