The International Committee of the Red Cross has launched a Web site to help Haitians find loved ones missing in the devastating earthquake that hit the capital Port-au-Prince.

The Red Cross says it hopes the dedicated site will help restore contact between separated family members.

The site can be accessed at: www.familylinks.icrc.org

Robert Zimmerman, deputy head of the group's tracing unit, said Thursday that people in Haiti and abroad can use the site to register the names of missing relatives.

The Geneva-based humanitarian agency has a long tradition of helping to reunite families separated by war and disaster.
