Red Arrow Workshop, the modern-inspired gift shop in River Ranch that opened two years ago, is opening a second location at the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
The Coca-Cola gallery, located in the main lobby of AcA, will finally fulfill its original purpose, a gift shop for Lafayette's premier visual arts and performance space, according to a release from AcA.
This addition will provide a permanent outlet for an all new line of official AcA merchandise, as well as a wonderful selection of books, great gift items, hand-crafted jewelry, bags and decor, and smart kids toys.
The grand opening of the 650-square-foot shop is set for Sept. 13 during ArtWalk.
"As residents of downtown, Jason and I are thrilled to bring our retail concept to the downtown area, and in partnership with AcA, help to create a complete experience for visitors," said Jillian Johnson, who owns Red Arrow with her husband Jason Brown. "With everything that's happening at AcA, you can now come and spend half the day there; check out the art in the galleries, grab a drink and a snack, do a little shopping, hang out in the lounge with friends or get a little work done with the free wifi, and even catch a movie or performance in the evening."
Red Arrow and its sister company, Parish Ink, are also expanding to New Orleans' popular Magazine Street shopping strip.
Johnson says work will begin next week on a joint Parish Ink and Red Arrow Workshop retail location at 3926 Magazine Street, which they hope will open sometime in September.
"We feel our New Orleans customer base is going to love being able to shop at both in one spot," Johnson said. "We're excited to be a part of the New Orleans community as well."
