Rayne Police recover stolen firearms

Rayne Police along with two local agencies solve a burglary that occurred in Vermillion Parish on January 29, 2013.

According to Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly, detectives received some initial information about the purchase of a stolen shotgun in Rayne. The investigation led to the Kaplan area where a hunting camp was burglarized and guns, fishing rods and TV's were stolen, according to Chief Stelly. Working with detectives from the Vermillion Parish Sheriffs Office and the Acadia Parish Sheriffs Office, detectives arrested 4 men in connection with the burglary. The men were charged in Rayne with possession of stolen goods and were also charged in Vermillion Parish with Simple Burglary.

Each suspects bond was set at $20,000 for the possession of stolen goods and $26,000 on the simple burglary.

Tyler Edward Hazlett, W/M, Dob 5/2/1993, of Rayne.
