A Rayne man was jailed on charges of battery, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana.
On Oct. 30, the Rayne Police Department says it executed a search warrant order at 209 E. Perrodin St. as part of a robbery investigation. The house is located directly across the street from Rayne Catholic Elementary School.
According to police, the search revealed marijuana, synthetic marijuana and several weapons and firearms.
Police say the resident, Jason Trudel, 21, was arrested for simple possession of marijuana, illegal possession of a firearm within the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and second-degree battery.
Trudel was booked into the Rayne Police Department Jail without incident and will be transported to the Acadia Parish Jail in the near future.
