Rayne man accused of robbery

A 56-year-old Rayne  man was charged with robbery after police say he was caught attempting to commit another robbery.

The Rayne Police Department arrested Neil LaGrange, a for 2 counts of Armed Robbery and 1 count of attempted Armed Robbery said Rayne Police Chief Carroll Stelly.

Stelly advised that at 1:25 a.m. the Rayne Police Department received a telephone call of a suspicious person at Frog City Travel Plaza. Upon officers investigating the suspect, it was determined that he was planning to rob the casino and restaurant said Stelly.

According to Stelly, a short foot chase ended with Neil LaGrange's capture.

He was booked into the Rayne Police Department Jail without further incident.

Armed robbery in Louisiana carries a 10 year minimum sentence for each charge.
