Save Our American Raptors, Inc. is a non-profit birds of prey environmental education organization founded in Florida by Doris Mager in 1983. Their mission is to educate people about the magnificent birds of prey (or raptors) of America. They do this by bringing a variety of live birds of prey to locations for fun and informative presentations. Presentations feature raptors such as a Falcon, Hawk, Owl, Black Vulture and a Bald Eagle, which many of the birds are free flying for an unforgettable "close encounter"!
Dale and John Stokes are husband and wife, teaming together to educate adults and children in schools, classrooms, gymnasiums, boardrooms, pavilions and state parks. Both were once employed by The American Eagle Foundation, where John, at one time, was in charge of the captive breeding program.
The public is invited to see and have a chance to interact with these magnificent animals during their presentation on Thursday, February 28th at the Patterson Civic Center. Admission fee is $5 per person; children 17 and under free with school I.D.
