Rapides Parish court offers amnesty to no-shows

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Rapides Parish court officials are offering amnesty to those who have not paid court fines and costs or who have outstanding bench warrants for not paying the fines.
The amnesty program does not affect city court cases.
Anyone who has unpaid fines and costs may pay at the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office at the Bonds and
Fines Division between Feb. 23-25.
Sheriff Chuck Wagner said in a news release Wednesday that once the costs are paid, contempt of court charges will be dismissed,
and warrants issued because of nonpayment will be recalled.
