Rapides approves contract for next school chief

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - The Rapides Parish School Board has approved an employment contract for its next superintendent.
The six-page document will be used in negotiations after the board has culled the current list of nominees to three.
The board decided on a three-year contract to end in 2016, one year after current Board members complete their terms.
The board is to meet Wednesday to choose 10 semifinalists for the superintendent's job.
