Rainy Conditions Hurt Sugar Crop Returns

Sugar farmers are having a down season in Vermilion Parish.

Nearly 16 inches of rain over the past two months have left the ground muddy and slick.

That's causing a low yield from crops.

Since farm equipment is also driven on public streets that also means farmers must scraping mud from streets during the harvest.
