A weak cold front will push across the area today and dissolve over the Gulf of Mexico this afternoon. Some clearing will take place, and temperatures should still warm into the upper 70s. Another cold front is drifting across the middle part of the country and will sag southward toward the Gulf Coast Tuesday night and Wednesday.
This front will stall offshore putting Acadiana north of the front. Cooler air will slide in and mid week temperatures will only reach the upper 60s. Low pressure is expected to develop over the western Gulf of Mexico and moist air will ride over the front. This will set up gray skies and widespread moderate rain possibly putting down 2-3 inches of rain Wednesday and Thursday.
Drier weather is expected this weekend with highs by Saturday back in the upper 70s to near 80.
