Some much needed, and well advertised, rain is headed toward Acadiana and looks to bring us a dose of wet weather by the end of the work week.
Deep tropical moisture from a system down in the Pacific is getting sucked up into our area and will be the fuel needed for some shower activity.
Starting as early as Thursday night with a few scattered showers likely the weather will be very unsettled headed into the weekend.
The models for so long were in agreement with this system, but frustratingly Thursday afternoon diverged from each other.
Still with the moisture that is entering Acadiana and shower development that took place Thursday afternoon toward Lake Charles it is a good bet that rain will be possible anytime on Friday.
Rain totals in some areas could be pushing 2" by Saturday with at least 1" through all of Acadiana, as we've mentioned several times before this is much welcomed rain.
A few thunderstorms will be possible Friday morning, but it will be mostly a rain event.
The forecast becomes trickier looking ahead to Saturday as some models hinting that the front could stall and allow some rain to hang around through the first half of the weekend.
Those who are trying to get a jump start on weekend plans may want to hold off on outdoor activity until Sunday which looks a lot drier.
