Ragin' Cajun fans urged to order bowl tickets now

The Ragin' Cajuns could be bowl bound for the second year in a row and fans are urged to get their tickets now. With only minutes left in Saturday's game against Western Kentucky, the Ragin' Cajuns clenched a win, becoming bowl eligible for the second year in a row.

"Well it's exciting for our football program, it's exciting for our university and it's also exciting for Lafayette and the Acadiana area," said Head Coach Mark Hudspeth. "I'm just real proud of this football team. By the way they've battled through some adversity midseason, and injuries, and now they got a chance to finish really strong, and we want to take our fans back to another big bowl."
By reserving tickets now, fans can do their part to ensure the team goes back to a bowl game this year.

"We want to stay ahead of the bowl process, and also show these bowl games that our fans are interested in post season play," said UL's Athletic Ticket Manager Matt Casbon. "They're getting in early and getting their tickets ordered when they're not even sure what are exact destination is going to be."

Bowl selection committees will be at this weekend's home game at against South Alabama. Hudspeth is hoping to have a sold out crowd.

"Bowl selection committees from bowls are showing up at the stadium wanting to see the number of fans that we have in attendance," said Hudspeth. "They want to see our football team play. So together we need to all hold on to that rope and do our part and have an unbelievable big time, college atmosphere this Saturday."

The actual bowl the Ragin' Cajuns will go to is unknown, but the priority deadline for tickets is December 6th. Ragin' Cajun fans set an attendance record at last year's New Orleans Bowl with over 42,000 people. More than half of those were UL fans. At this weekend's game, committees from the, and Liberty Bowls will be in attendance.

There are several ways to get tickets. You can go to the Cajundome box office, call 337-265-2170 or download the form online. For more information, and to download the form click here.
