Ragin' Cajun Catholics is announcing that members of its ministry will attend an international seminar in Vatican City featuring Pope Francis I.

The Pontifical Council of Culture's "Sport is for Man" seminar from Sept. 1-3 is part of an event billed as the Interreligious Game for Peace. The event in St. Peter's Square will feature testimonies, debates, and round table discussions with delegates of national and international Catholic Sport Associations and Sports for All Associations.

As a former varsity softball player for Benedictine College, Allison McCormick expressed a passionate interest in ministering to UL athletes. Representing the UL contingent as missionaries with McCormick will be Lafayette native Ben Domingue and UL alumna Linda Del Rio, wife of Denver Broncos assistant coach Jack Del Rio.

The group will be sharing their stories of work currently impacting students on the UL campus. Their ministry includes Bible studies, retreats, mission experiences, leadership and service opportunities, and sacramental life.
