The St. Landry Parish School Board member convicted last week on federal bribery charges says he is planning to file an appeal.
Quincy Richard tells KATC that he is looking into entering his appeal in federal court. Richard's attorney, Quincy Richard, Jr., says that he is looking to see if there are grounds to file an appeal before making a final determination on the matter.
Richard last week was found guilty on one count of bribery, one count of conspiracy to commit bribery, and one count of aiding and abetting bribery. Prosecutors argued that Richard took part in a scheme with former school board member John Miller to sell their votes to superintendent candidate Joseph Cassimere.
