This week has been a quick preview of summer with temperatures making it into the 80s and humidity levels high as well. Expect this muggy pattern to persist through Thursday before another cold front will dry us out and cool us off a little bit.
Frontal passage now looks to move through late Thursday evening, and although the rain will be heavy at times because it is a fast moving system rain totals should stay low. With all the moisture we have had pumped into Acadiana lately there will be plenty of fuel for this storm system. The severe threat will be more dominant to our north, but there is a slight possibility of some severe weather in Acadiana.
In the meantime the skies will remain cloudy and the air pretty sticky as winds persist straight out of the south. Those winds will pick up slightly Wednesday, and may prevent some patchy fog from forming overnight on Tuesday.
