Qualifying for State Senate Seats

Qualifying for State Senate seat 26 begins today. We already know at least two candidates who want the job. They are Nathan Granger and Jonathon Perry, they're the ones hoping to fill Nick Gautreux's seat. District 26 is made up of all of Vermillion Parish, parts of Acadia, Lafayette and some of St. Landry. There are an estimated 80,000 voters in that district.

Candidates running for another State Senate seat will square off in a debate. The Tea Party of Lafayette will host the debate tonight for those running for the State Senate, District 22 race. It will be held at the Sliman Theatre in New Iberia at 7:00pm.
