Public's assistance needed in identifying robbery suspect

Lafayette Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying an armed robbery suspect.

According to Cpl. Paul Mouton, this morning at at 8:00 a.m., police responded to an armed robbery in the 2800 block of Louisiana Avenue. According to the two victims, a male armed with a handgun stole a cell phone and an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect was described as a thin black male, wearing all black. The suspect fled the area on foot. There were no injuries reported, state Cpl. Mouton.

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are encouraging anyone with information about the robbery to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
