Public's assistance needed in identifying a Lake Charles Bank Robber

Lake Charles police are requesting assistance from the public in identifying a bank robbery suspect.

Today, police received a call at 12:10 pm in reference to a man that robbed the Jeff Davis Bank located at 535 Kirby Street in Lake Charles. The suspect approached a bank employee and handed her a note demanding money, according to a police news release. The employee complied, giving the suspect an undetermined amount of cash.

If anyone was in the area of Common Street and Kirby Street during this time, they are asked to contact the Detective Division of the Lake Charles Police Department or Crimestoppers at 439-2222.

The suspect is described as black male, 5'10" to 6"00", 160 to 180 pounds, dark complexion, wearing dark blue clothing. He was last seen running south on Common Street from Kirby Street, according to police.
