Vermilion Parish Waterworks District No. 1 is asking that customers connected to the water system conserve water in the next few days with the freezing temperatures. Customers are allowed to let the water run over night, but please make sure as little water as possible is running. This request is only for precautionary reasons to ensure ample water supply.
As of today we are needing our customers to use only the water necessary to avoid freezing. Please advise water district customers to avoid using excess bulk water, such as washing clothes and excess water for bathing, and washing dishes, etc. The water plant is experiencing pressure problems and eliminating excess usage will help with ensuring the plant will be able to produce the water necessary to get everyone through the freezing temperatures. Should customers have any emergencies they may contact the office at 337-898-8345 and the voice mail will give a number for emergencies.
