A new restaurant is coming to the heart of downtown Lafayette and it promises to bring even more French influence right here in the heart of Cajun Country.
"The French Press" is a joint venture by husband and wife, Justin and Margaret Girouard.
"The French Press is going to be a family-friendly breakfast and lunch restaurant Wednesday thru Sunday, with a jazz brunch on Sundays and with upscale dining on Friday and Saturday nights," said Justin Girouard, who will be the restaurant's chef.
Atmosphere will also be a signature of The French Press, the latest development in the 80-year-old building, which was once the Tribune Printing Plant.
"Justin and I really care about hosting people, and giving them a good meal and making sure they're well taken care of, and we're going to be there everyday making sure that happens and pouring our heart into it," said Margaret Girouard.
The French Press is scheduled to open the first week of January.
