Ten former Ragin’ Cajuns worked out on Tuesday for scouts representing 24 different NFL teams at the Ragin’ Cajuns 2010 Pro Timing Day. The players worked various drills to show their strength, speed and athleticism.

In addition to scouts, three NFL teams sent their defensive line coach, while San Diego Chargers Senior Executive Randy Mueller was also in attendance.

The average weight of the players was 248 pounds, as half of them were either offensive or defensive lineman. Safety Gerren Blount posted the best 40-yard dash at 4.63 seconds, while defensive tackle LaQuincy Williams totaled top honors with 30 reps in the 225 bench press.

Defensive lineman Hall Davis, who left the NFL Scouting Combine early due to injury, attempted to run the 40-yard dash on Tuesday, but slowed up over the final five yards, posting a time of 4.86 seconds. Davis, who had 27 reps in the 225 bench press, a vertical jump of 34.5” and a broad jump of 9-foot-6, did compete well in the agility and position drills.

The defensive linemen went through a vigorous workout conducted by the defensive line coaches from Cincinnati, New Orleans and St. Louis. Former Cajuns offensive lineman Brad Bustle worked with a scout from Detroit on individual drills, while linebacker Antwyne Zanders worked with a scout from St. Louis.
