HOUMA, La. (AP) - Terrebonne Parish school Superintendent Philip Martin says an investigation has cleared the principal of South Terrebonne High School of allegations he harassed interracial couples.
Martin tells The Courier the students told investigators there was no racism involved.
But the president of the Terrebonne chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Jerome Boykin, says he remains unconvinced.
Boykin accused principal Dane Voisin last week of calling two female white students into his office and encouraging them to break up with their black boyfriends because of their race.
School Board member Roosevelt Thomas, who is black, says he is satisfied the investigation was thorough.
Voisin said he was consulting an attorney and could not comment.
