SpayNation for Dogs & Cats Urges Pit Bull Parents to Prevent Unwanted Litters Through its "Primp Your Pit" Promotion

Free Nail Trim offered with Low Cost Spay/Neuter Surgery

LAFAYETTE, LA - With 8 million homeless pets entering U.S. shelters every year, SpayNation for Dogs & Cats is helping to solve the problem with its
"Primp Your Pit" spay/neuter promotion sponsored by PetSmart Charities®.

During the month of August, 2012, SpayNation for Dogs & Cats will spay/
neuter 100 pit bulls and pit bull mixes for a special rate of $20.00, including a free nail trim.

Today, 35 percent of dogs and cats in U.S. households are not spayed or neutered yet the procedure is one of the most effective ways to reduce
the homeless pet population. Pit bulls, in particular, end up in shelters in large numbers because of myths and negative media that impact public
perceptions associated with the breed.

The ‘Primp Your Pit' promotion helps you and your dog," says SpayNation for Dogs & Cats. "Spaying/neutering a pet is the most effective thing a pet
parent can do to prevent unwanted litters and ensure their pet lives a long, happy life."

The American Veterinary Medical Association endorses pediatric spaying and neutering, and research shows that the procedure can improve the
behavior and health of the pet, including reducing the risk of certain reproductive cancers and infections.
In an effort to prevent unwanted litters of pit bulls, this special rate during the "Primp Your Pit" event applies to all residents of Acadiana. Pit bull
parents who wish to take advantage of this offer must mention the "Primp Your Pit" promotion when they schedule their appointment. The promotion
is based on availability. Please visit spaynation.net or call 337-264-1088 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

About SpayNation for Dogs & Cats
SpayNation for Dogs & Cats is an initiative spearheaded by Wild Cat Foundation, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization based in Lafayette, LA.

Started in 2002 as a small but very effective TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) group for spaying feral and stray cats, Wild Cat Foundation is committed to
finding positive solutions to help humanely control Acadiana's feral cat overpopulation problem. Since its beginning, Wild Cat Foundation has helped
spay/neuter over 8,000 cats in the Acadiana area.
SpayNation for Dogs & Cats is a low cost, high quality spay/neuter center providing sterilization services to the cats and dogs of Acadiana and beyond.
We do what we do because we believe that aggressive spay/neuter is the most efficient, humane and effective method of reducing the homeless and
unwanted pet population, which drastically reduces the number of dogs and cats entering shelters and animal control facilities every day. We are
working for and towards a community without homeless pets, where all residents have access to high quality, low cost spay/neuter. Since April 2010
SpayNation for Dogs & Cats has spayed and neutered over 11,500 dogs and cats.
