Pre-K Round Up in Vermilion Parish

Today Vermilion Parish parents with a four year old at home should make plans to get a head start on their child's education.
Officials say the pre-kindergarten round up this morning is critical. Vermilion Parish School board Leaders say classes are limited for all students in the district and placement will be on a first come first served basis. For parents there are a few things to keep in mind. a complete registration packet must be filled out prior to the round up. Also have the child's birth certificate, social security card, immunization record, along with proof of residency and income.
"If the classes are full we start a waiting list so attending this round is critical to make sure that they get a spot," said Pre-K Facilitator Vermilion Parish Schools.
The round up starts at 8:30 this morning and tomorrow at the Boys and Girls Club in Abbeville. Parents must bring their children with them for screenings and a placement test. For complete information on how to get a registration packet or what parents should bring visit www.vrml.k12.la.us.
