Prayer Vigil Tonight for Police Victims Involved in the St. Mary Parish Shooting

A prayer vigil will be held tonight for the police victims involved in the St. Mary Parish shooting on Saturday. Two out of the three St. Mary Parish deputies remain hospitalized but stable. Both are expected to recover and are said to be in good spirits. Tthat's 23-year-old Jason Javier, who's been with the department for two years.
Also 24-year-old Matthew Strickland, who rejoined the department this month after serving in the National Guard.
Killed in the shooting was Sergeant Rick Riggenbach, of the Chitimacha Police Department. He's worked in law enforcement for 15 years including time with the St. Mary Parish sheriff's office. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy. Riggenbach leaves behind a wife and 4 children, he was 52 years old.
The prayer vigil will be held tonight at the Mount Pleasant Church in Charenton and will begin at 6 p.m.
