NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Storms moving through southeastern Louisiana knocked out power to tens of thousands and flooded streets. The National Weather Service says the New Orleans area got the most rain, with more on the way. Meteorologist Jim Salzwedel says New Orleans' Lakefront Airport got nearly 5.4 inches between midnight and 4 p.m. Friday and the city's international airport got 3.3 inches. The Slidell airport had less than 1.6 inches and Baton Rouge had only a trace.

Flash flood warnings were issued for parts of Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard and St. Charles parishes. Water was a foot or more deep on some New Orleans streets.

A flash flood watch continues through Saturday. Entergy Corp. reported more than 30,000 customers without power late Friday morning as a result of the storms.
