The LSU AgCenter's Hill Farm Research Station will be the site of a Sept. 18 master farmer field day for poultry producers.
LSU AgCenter poultry specialist Theresia Lavergne said participants will receive credit for phase 2 of the Louisiana Master Farmer program, she said.
The program begins with registration at 9 a.m., followed by presentations on pasteurization of broiler litter, calibrating litter spreaders, using filter strips and evaluating fan dust using water-collection units.
Afternoon programs include introduction to the Louisiana Master Farmer Program and presentations on watersheds and coastal pollution control.

The research station is at 11959 Louisiana Highway 9 in Homer.
