UPDATE-LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso says four people were killed in a mobile home in a trailer park near Lake Charles.
He says the bodies were found Monday morning, after a woman who hadn't been able to get in touch with her daughter went to check on her.
He says the woman opened the door, saw a body just inside, closed the door again and called 911.
Mancuso says all four bodies showed trauma, but he doesn't want to give any details that might be used during questioning.
He says investigators haven't identified the bodies or notified next-of-kin, and he doesn't know how many people lived in the mobile home.
Mancuso wouldn't comment immediately about when the four were probably killed.
Possible quadruple homicide in Lake Charles. It happened at the intersection of Tom Hebert Road & Hwy 14. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating. Right now they are canvassing the neighborhood, talking to neighbors. The sheriff says they got a call around 9:50am from a woman who says she went to the trailer to check on her daughter because she hadn't heard from her in a couple of days. That's when the four bodies were found. Deputies right now are waiting for a search warrant to enter the trailer and collect evidence. The names of the victims have not yet been released.
