People living at Ridgeview Apartments in Broussard say the apartments are making them sick.
Ridgeview resident Lela Mark says she really believes mold is in all of the apartments.
Mark blames her upper respiratory problems on what she believes is mold growing in in the complex.
"It's been bothering my eyes and my nose been running and i believe that's the cause of it," says Mark.
A dozen residents echoed the same complaint, but were hesistant to speak out.
There's no confirmation this is black mold, but residents don't care, they just want it gone.
They say Livingston Management Group hasn't responded to their requests for the past four years.
Residents alsosay they believe the only people getting help are those on public assistance.
"HUD requires us to provide a decent safe and sanity conditions for all our families," says Jonathan Carmouche with the Lafayette Housing Authority.
Carmouche says HUD requires all public housing to pass a quality standards test before residents move in.
But for others in the complex like Lela Mark, it's a waiting game.
She says, "it'sreally it's bad on everybody, cause that black mold, it can kill you."
