A boil advisory in effect for Port Barre has been extended to St. Landry Parish Waterworks District 3.
The advisory was put in place this morning following a water main burst on Saizon Street. The line has been repaired and is currently being flushed.
The boil advisory was initially issued for only the 3,675 residents on the Port Barre Water System. Officials added Waterworks District 3 to that advisory around 10 A. M.
Water samples have been collected and have been sent to DHH for testing.
Waterworks District 3 covers the unincorporated parts of the St. Landry Parish just outside of Port Barre.
