The suspect charged in connection with the stabbing death of a Eunice man has been extradited back to Lafayette. Kyle Toups was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center Monday after spending the last week held in Newton County, Texas. Toups was arrested there last week and charged with second-degree murder for the death of 24-year-old Luke Darby. Police say Toups stabbed Darby to death during a fight in downtown Lafayette in the early morning hours of October 14. Toups brother, Travis, is charged as an accessory after the fact. The case is still under investigation.
