The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office needs help finding the person who tried to open an ATM with a stolen forklift.
At approcimately 3:45am on July 14th, deputies were dispatched after a burglary alarm had been triggered on the ATM at Jeff Davis Bank located at 4989 E. McNeese St, Lake Charles.
Deputies discovered that an unknown man had stolen a forklift from a nearby construction site, drove it to the bank, and attempted to open the ATM machine. The suspect rammed the ATM machine a few times, and moved it from its foundation, destroying it in the process. However, the suspect did not successfully gain access, and no cash was stolen. The forklift was recovered parked behind the bank, near the destroyed ATM machine.
The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is asking the general public for assistance on this case. Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to call CPSO at 491-3605 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The lead investigator for this case is CPSO Detective Brandon Perry.
