SULPHUR, La. (AP) - Sulphur police say a woman brandishing a gun robbed a bank in a crime similar to one last month in Kinder.
Police spokesman Mel Estess tells The American Press a heavyset woman wearing a red shirt, blue jeans, a black and white wig, sunglasses and a surgical mask walked into the MidSouth Bank branch at 12:45 p.m. Thursday and demanded cash from a teller. No one was injured.
Estees said the robber fled the scene in a white car driven by a female believed to be in her mid-20s to 30s.
He says officials believe this incident could be linked to the Feb. 13 robbery of the Iberia Bank in Kinder in which a female entered the bank and demanded money from the teller.
