NEW ORLEANS (AP) Police say a 25-year-old New Orleans man was shot after he waived a handgun at police.
According to investigators, Kenneth Polk was spotted in a car Wednesday night with suspicious license plates. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver fled.
After police cars blocked Polk's car, police say he drove back and forth hitting the police cars, then pulled out the gun.
One of the officers saw the weapon, fired and hit Polk in the left arm.
When he's released from the hospital, police say Polk will be booked with attempted murder of a police officer, possession of a stolen vehicle, hit and run and a host of other traffic offenses.
