The Acadia Parish Police Jury will vote tonight to increase its pay for the first time in 34 years. Police jurors currently make $950 per month, with the police jury president making $1050 per month. The proposed raise would give police jurors $1400 per month and the president $1550 per month. Richard Latiolais, the police jury's secretary-treasurer, says the body's current salary is among the lowest in the state. He says the proposed raise is the current salary adjusted for inflation from 1997.
