Police Investigate Two Robberies Minutes Apart
Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department are investigating two robberies that occurred on March 24, 2010, at approximately 8:40 pm, just minutes apart. The first incident occurred near the intersection of Stevenson and Taft Street. The victim, a 20 year old female of Lafayette, was walking and approached by the suspect, who was riding a bike. The suspect held a knife towards the victim and demanded money. The suspect fled the area on his bike when he discovered the victim had no money in her possession.

The second incident occurred in the 900 block of Lamar Street. The victim, a 25 year old male of Lafayette, was walking when stopped by the suspect, who was riding a bike. The suspect initially asked for directions, but then produced a knife and demanded money. The suspect stole the victim's wallet and fled the area on his bike.

Both victims described the suspect as a black male in his mid twenties, shaved head, dark colored pants and a brown shirt. The suspect was riding a dark colored mountain bike.
