A Sulphur man wanted by federal officials on drug charges is now behind bars after Jennings police say they found between $8,000 and $10,000 worth of meth in his car.
Investigators say Kevin Portie was found asleep inside his car behind a local pharmacy. Officers say when they responded to wake him up, they found a smoking pipe and a gun on the front seat. An ensuing search of the car turned up four ounces of uncut meth.
Federal agents wanted Portie on a conspiracy to distribute meth charge.
His bond is set at $450,000.
