BAKER, La. (AP) - A 24-year-old man ordered to spend seven days in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison suffered a serious gash to his arm when he ran into a glass door while trying to escape from police officers.

Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps tells The Advocate Jcolby A. Johnson's momentum carried him through the glass door when he fled the court building about 11 a.m. Wednesday after City Judge Kirk Williams ordered Johnson taken to Parish Prison in connection with earlier charges.

Knaps said Johnson was captured a short time later.

After being treated at Earl K. Long Medical Center, Knaps said Johnson was booked at Parish Prison with simple criminal damage to property, resisting an officer and simple escape.
