Police Charge Man with Trying to Fill False Prescriptions

An Opelousas man is in jail on charges he tried to fill false prescriptions. Police say Lester Bowman went to a pharmacy and tried to fill four different prescriptions. When the pharmacist noticed the prescription cards were each filled out differently, he called police. Police say Bowman told them he was filling the prescriptions for someone else who would pay him if he came back with the drugs. Police also say Bowman tried to flee from the police station, but he was caught shortly afterward.
