Opelousas police are investigating a suspicious death after a body was dumped in front of a hospital. Police Chief Perry Gallow says the body was left at Opelouas General's South Campus around 9:00 Sunday night. Gallow says there were no visible signs of foul play or intravenous drug use. According to Gallow, an autopsy will be performed today, but it will take up to 48 hours for the coroner to determine a cause of death. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
Gallow says investigators are waiting on surveillance video from the hospital to see if they can learn who left the body at the hospital. If you know anything about this case, call the Opelousas Police Department at 948-2500.
