Police Arrest Suspect In Lafayette Florist Robbery

UPDATE: Suspect Arrested at Area Hotel

David Desormeaux was arrested without incident yesterday evening at a hotel on the Evangeline Thruway by the Lafayette Police Department's Action Unit.

The case remains under investigation.

Suspect Sought in Flower Shop Burglary

The Lafayette Police Department is seeking information as to the whereabouts of a suspect who is believed to have committed a burglary at the business located at 1803 West University Avenue. On February 12, 2010, at approximately 4:00 am, the suspect is alleged to have broken the front door glass and entered the business. As a result of the ongoing investigation, detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have issued an arrest warrant for Simple Burglary for the arrest of David Colin Desormeaux (38) of Lafayette.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of Desormeaux is encouraged to call the Lafayette Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
