A Lafayette armed robbery suspect is charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder after trying to run over police officers this morning when they tried to arrest him. Brandon Booth, 20, is accused of robbing a business in the 2800 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway. Police say Booth tried to run over them with his car when they attempted to arrest him. A second person detained at the scene was released after police learned he did not take part in the robbery. The case remains under investigation.
