Police: Anyone caught with shooting suspect will be charged as accessory

Opelousas police are still searching for an attempted murder suspect, and now they are threatening to arrest anyone caught helping him hide.

Kendol Payne is wanted in connection with a double shooting Sunday near the corner of Blanchard and Academy Streets. Investigators say they have searched a number of locations in Opelousas for Payne, but they still have not turned up any leads.

Investigators say anyone caught with Payne at the time of his arrest will be charged as an accessory to his alleged crimes.

Payne is wanted on attempted first-degree and attempted second-degree murder charges. Police say Payne should be considered as armed and dangerous. If you know where Payne is, call Opelousas police at 948-2513.
