COVINGTON, La. (AP) - A company that wants to build a natural
sewage-treatment plant in Hickory in St. Tammany Parish has
abandoned its plans.
St. Tammany's Zoning Commission denied a request last month from
Bioregen Systems LLC for a zoning change to accommodate the plant.
An appeal to the Parish Council had been planned Thursday. But The
Times-Picayune reports that Bioregen's attorney informed the
council that the company had withdrawn its appeal and will look for
another site in the parish.
